What is the Airlink 3085 Series?
Airlink 3085 is a high-end wireless intercom system designed for demanding operations such as helicopter missions, naval deployments, search & rescue and special operations. It creates a full-duplex communication “bubble” around the platform, so up to eight users can talk and listen simultaneously with very low latency.
What are the main technical features of Airlink 3085?
The system offers large audio wideband (200–7000 Hz), 8 simultaneous users in conference, 300 m range in full duplex and a long-range option up to 4 km. It delivers around 12 hours of autonomy, with removable AA or Li-ion batteries, and can also be powered directly from 9–36 VDC. Advanced audio processing includes digital noise filtering, a digital voice-activated microphone (VOX) and Bluetooth options.
How do the headset, beltpack and base work together?
A fixed or plug-and-play base connects to the aircraft or vehicle intercom system (ICS), while mobile beltpacks and integrated wireless headsets connect to the base or to each other. The beltpack can be combined with almost any headset or safety helmet (high or low impedance), is submersible, USB-C or rack-charger compatible and includes a rugged display and voice activity detector. The wireless headset offers –32 dB SNR passive noise reduction, low latency for instant reactivity, VOX, digital noise filtering and long-range options.
How does Airlink 3085 improve safety and mission effectiveness?
By providing clear, continuous voice communication in harsh, noisy environments, Airlink 3085 helps crews coordinate hoisting, boarding, firing, drone launching or rescue manoeuvres with fewer misunderstandings. Full duplex and very low latency let operators react immediately to hazards or changing instructions, while robust hearing protection and digital noise filtering reduce fatigue and improve situational awareness throughout the mission.
Who is the Airlink 3085 Series designed for?
Airlink 3085 is built for mission-critical users: helicopter crews, winch operators and medics, naval boarding teams, special forces, coast guards, search & rescue organisations, drone launch teams and operators of specialised vehicles. It is ideal wherever teams need secure, hands-free communication while moving between cabin, deck, ramp or open air.
Is Airlink 3085 compatible with existing headsets and intercom systems?
Yes. The base is compatible with most helicopter and aircraft intercoms, both high and low impedance, and can be integrated as a fixed embedded base or as a plug-and-play unit. Mobiles can be connected to almost any headset or helmet, allowing operators to keep their existing protective equipment while upgrading communication to a wireless full-duplex system.
Can the system withstand harsh operational environments?
Airlink 3085 is fully qualified against stringent aeronautical and military standards (DO/MIL). The mobile beltpack is submersible and built with a rugged design for harsh environments, while the wireless headset provides reliable noise reduction and secure communication in wind, spray, vibration, rain or dust. Long-range and night-vision-compatible options make it suitable for complex real-world operations.
Which customers already rely on Airlink 3085 in the field?
The Airlink 3085 Series is deployed by the French Armed Forces (Air & Space Force, Navy, Army, Gendarmerie), as well as major industrial and defence players such as Airbus Helicopters, Dassault Aviation, Naval Group, Surveycopter, Equinor, the Royal New Zealand Air Force, the Royal Netherlands Air Force and the Royal Army of Oman.
